Imprisoned in Sing Sing for a crime he didn’t commit, Divine G finds purpose by acting in a theater troupe with other imprisoned men in this story of resilience, humanity, and the transformative power of art. The cast of the film begins by rehearsing parts of the play. The group has been criticized for not doing comedies, but their previous play was A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which is a comedy.

People are ultimately just people
I love the hope this film gave me. I’m not sure if I would have chosen to see this film in the theater, but I was blown away by the beauty of it. I don’t know anything about awards or when these decisions are made.
The characters are authentic and absolutely capable of love
I would be absolutely shocked if this film wasn’t on board. I was really surprised when I found out more about the cast at the end of the film, which made me cry even more. Happy tears.
Hope is feeling good
I loved that the characters were raw in their performances and I can’t say enough. This film is big and feels big.
