Having seen it, I’m not sure either
It certainly starts by making him seem more human than perhaps he or some media outlets have done in recent years… How he’s changed as a result of learning from Roy Cohn and money and power is certainly a theme… The scenes of him in the 80s that look grainy like 80s TV are a nice touch…
and how they’re developed throughout the film
